From unemployment to natural juices entrepreneurship

Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina (ILO News) - Almir Brković, a 46-year-old Bosnian Herzegovinian living in Tuzla, recently founded a business specializing in the production of natural juices, fruit jams and marmalades under the name Treasury of Health RB.

Almir’s journey into producing homemade natural juices began spontaneously. As the father of a teenager actively involved in sports, he wanted to provide his son with healthy, vitamin- and energy-rich alternatives to products laden with additives and sugars. During a visit to a machine manufacturer, his son sampled a few bottles of juice and was delighted by the flavour, sparking the idea for the business.

This idea coincided perfectly with an opportunity to attend the Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) training in Tuzla, organized by the International Labour Organization’s implementing partners as part of the Local Employment Partnerships (LEP II) project. Unemployed at the time, Almir decided to apply. By crafting a business plan during the training, his vision for producing natural juices became a reality.

I am especially pleased when I hear feedback that our juices help ease the recovery of patients undergoing chemotherapy, quickly improve blood counts, and have become a ritual in many homes-including mine-for maintaining immunity and overall health.
