ILO Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia
The ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team and Country Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ILO DWT/CO-Moscow) serves nine countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
The primary goal of the ILO is to promote opportunities for women and men to obtain decent and productive work in conditions of freedom, equity, security, and human dignity.
The ILO Moscow Branch Office, established in 1959, was reorganized into an Area Office in 1997. In 1998, it was further enhanced with the addition of a team of experts, forming the East European and Central Asian Multidisciplinary Team. Today the DWT/CO-Moscow continues to facilitate and support social dialogue between governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations, provide technical advice, and build partnerships with national, regional and international institutions with the aim of promoting decent work and social justice across the subregion.
