The ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team and Country Office for Central and Eastern Europe, located in Budapest, Hungary, serves 20 countries and territories in Central and Eastern Europe from the Baltic States to Albania, and from Czechia to Georgia. The list of countries includes Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo*, Latvia, Lithuania, the Republic of North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.

The DWT/CO-Budapest was established in 1993 with a mandate to provide technical assistance to the countries in the sub-region and oversee relations with constituents (government, employers’ and workers’ organizations). The team of technical specialists provides advice on labour standards and social dialogue, employment, skills and enterprise development, labour inspection and occupational safety and health, social protection, gender equality and transition to formality.

The Decent Work Country Programmes are the cooperation frameworks agreed between the ILO and tripartite constituents in the countries covered by the DWT/CO-Budapest and form the back bone of the support provided.
