Why and how to leverage Employment Impact Assessments at national level

This note explains how Employment Impact Assessments (EmpIAs) can be leveraged to create more and better jobs through actions taken at national level. It elaborates what EmpIAs are, their relevance at national level and the specific activities that a national government should consider conducting. The actions proposed in this document would ideally be undertaken jointly with the ILO in the framework of a national technical assistance programme, and will allow governments and relevant national stakeholders to leverage EmpIA tools to support the design of better employment creation strategies in key areas of their respective national development plan.
