HANOI (ILO News) – The Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Viet Nam have launched the Advisory Programme to support electronics manufacturers to improve working conditions and industrial relations at the workplace.
The programme themed “Towards a sustainable and resilient electronics industry in Viet Nam” will be open for registration until 18 April 2022. Electronics manufacturers who want to join the free advisory services are encouraged to read the Registration Guide and send the Registration Form by the deadline.
The programme aims to provide timely support to electronics enterprises in the process of COVID-19 crisis recovery through:
Enhancing understanding and application of Viet Nam’s labour laws and International Labour Standards
Building capacity for a core team of managerial staff and union members at the workplace
Applying effectively management principles at electronics factories
Integrating better into the global electronics supply chain.
Participants will benefit from a package of advisory services worth US$15,000 for comprehensive improvement, including:
Onsite compliance advisory services from ILO-trained enterprise advisers, including customized improvement roadmap
20 places in a series of standard and elective courses (with certificates)
Three quarterly industry seminars tailored to electronics manufacturers
Support for self-diagnosis and needs identification
Four “Factory Ambassadors” sessions for factory compliance staff and workers’ representatives
E-learning courses.
This programme is designed for enterprises in the electronics sector with the need and commitment to enhance operational efficiency and working conditions regardless of size, ownership or geographic location. All enterprises in the electronics supply chain are encouraged to apply. Participants will be selected based on their need for technical assistance, commitment to improvement, and capacity to join all activities of the programme.
